A Little Ski Hill
Little ski hills are the kind I really love. Bogus is cool because it’s a nonprofit and a great mountain. Brundage is a spectacular place with a mom and pop feel. But the Little Ski Hill is perfect. It’s loaded with ski history and you can feel how it’s all about the skiing and riding and not full of the pomp and circumstance of most resorts. I am biased I guess because I grew up skiing at Howelsen Hill and LSH has that same feel.
We had a super fantastic weekend of dual GS and combination SL/GS/Terrain racing for my 6 yr old with a season finale pond skimming competition to top it all off. Sun, music, kids racing, great people and skiing across a pond: what better way to end a great winter ski season in Idaho.
Here’s a video of my 3 pond skimming runs. Notice in the second run how one of the punk kids nails me in the face with a snowball which led to my downfall in the 3rd run as I attempted to seek revenge with my own surprise snowball.
